Come dance with me through time.
Romungro Bashaldo dancer, harper, engineer and scholar. In exile. What I see as I pass on by.

I’m Russell Patrick Brown, PhD — born in Cleveland, Ohio into a family with an unbroken travelling tradition. Formed across New York, Ireland and beyond, I carry a living Romani tradition of moving with time — not as reconstruction or reclamation, but as continuation.
Feeling Impact
A study of Irish step dance, percussive rhythm and the hidden histories carried in the body.
Based on my PhD research at the University of Limerick. A personal narrative across centuries and continents — tracing how Irish step dance carries and transforms histories of collision, labor, survival and joy, including unclaimed Romani histories.

From the road
I write about culture, history and current events from a Romungro Bashaldo perspective. Sharp takes on what I see passing on by — from exile, in real time.
